My advice is to establish a good relationship with your construction manager. Make sure you have your realtor at your meetings. I wish I would have upgraded my wood floors but we opted to spend on the cast iron stair rails, tray ceiling in our master, and crown molding through out the house; only because we knew that those weren’t things we would likely change down the road. I also upgraded the kitchen which gave us a walk in pantry and huge island. The set-up is not traditional but it’s actually perfect if you love open concepts. All in all asks questions and make sure you get exactly what you want. ♥ Nikki ♥ https://www.blogger.com/profile/09063990450046419691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8522903267130779920.post-73652526153157847702018-05-18T16:09:15.051-07:002018-05-18T16:09:15.051-07:00Nikki your home sounds lovely and I am obsessed wi...Nikki your home sounds lovely and I am obsessed with the Jefferson model and hope to purchase some time this year. Do you have any pics of your home you would like to share and/or advice on building this model?Strawberry1https://www.blogger.com/profile/03811522711905773207noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8522903267130779920.post-69174823531715210082018-05-01T18:49:43.234-07:002018-05-01T18:49:43.234-07:00I love the Jefferson Square. We have the bonus bedroom which gave us a double door closet, and 5 nice size bedrooms, we extended the family room, and upgraded our master room and bath. It’s really a uniquely beautiful home. I do wish the morning room was bigger but I enjoy everything else. Hubby has the closet in the bathroom and it never gets steamy or feels yucky, he simply keeps the door closed. The upstairs laundry is a dream come true and makes it so easy for us to keep things tidy and put clothes exactly where they belong. We splurged on a great washer and dryer, so it’s quiet and quick, plus it’s smells delightful in our hallway. All in all this is not the cookie cutter type of home but it’s perfect for my family and I.♥ Nikki ♥ https://www.blogger.com/profile/09063990450046419691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8522903267130779920.post-51860187841536745302012-11-13T19:06:52.286-08:002012-11-13T19:06:52.286-08:00LMAO about the closets through the bathrooms...eve...LMAO about the closets through the bathrooms...even though that closet is bigger in the Rome, I'm so anti that concept that I gave that closet to my husband! For all the same reasons TeamMom23 stated, plus I'm hoping it means my husband's clothes won't be all over the master suite!

I think the biggest thing I'm regretting about the Rome we chose is that the mudroom is laughable. I would have loved to have the extended mudroom/laundry room right off the garage, for the muddy boys coming in from playing. The best I could do was have a laundry tub/sink in the garage, so they can strip and wash up before they come inside. I might have to designate an enclosed laundry basket for transferring the clothes to the upstairs laundry room, though...Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12870936898058094672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8522903267130779920.post-5580436245545401482012-10-23T11:44:17.697-07:002012-10-23T11:44:17.697-07:00Me too!!! First of all there are way too many "things" that can be going on in the bathroom that I don't want to be a part of and secondly I don't want my clothes, shoes, and purses to be anywhere near those "things" if you know what I mean. Bathrooms are for personal use period. They are not meant to be a thoroughfare. I'm also not a big fan of the closet through the bathroom which a lot of the new models seem to be doing.*colette*https://www.blogger.com/profile/00659371563003198041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8522903267130779920.post-66872787358863842022012-10-23T06:27:08.924-07:002012-10-23T06:27:08.924-07:00Interesting. We've got several in our development. And I 100 percent am with you on the first floor laundry camp for the same reason. We got the extended laundry/mudroom and it's a great place for two muddy boys to strip down and put dirty clothes straight into the wash. Plus, I'm a person who normally does laundry at night while I'm watching TV in the family room -- which makes it convenient to switch loads and then bring clothes into the family room to fold. Of course, we were told that when we signed, it was the last week that Ryan would be offering the Jefferson in our community. In fact, the Jefferson isn't even listed on the website for Ohio anymore (although still available in Pennsylvania). We looked at the plans for the Jefferson Square not too long ago, and felt the same way you did. Although the double shower head would be great for our master (and is probably the direction we'll go when renovating in 5 yrs or so), it's not worth losing some of the other great features of the original Jefferson. I too am curious to see how popular it becomes.UnsafePrunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12923768707571265834noreply@blogger.com
