  6. Your house is gorgeous! We're building the Jefferson too, but we haven't even gotten to groundbreaking yet. I think we chose the same tile as you did, and I'm so happy it looks fantastic!

  8. Can I ask how you got a shelf/seat in your shower? Our SR is telling us it's not possible (building in NE Ohio) and we are building the Jefferson, too. I don't really understand it.

    1. I was very concerned about this from the beginning and my sales rep was confident that it could be done. We submitted a non-standard request for the seat and the swing door (I'm not a fan of sliding doors at all). It took about 6 weeks before it was approved and a price was given $300. My PM also said it was really to do; it's simply some extra wood to build the seat, tiles, and a different enclosure. For me personally, if they came back and said no, we would have picked a different house even though I love the Jefferson, but that is how important this was. I take a shower every day and I need somewhere to one put my stuff and two my leg when I shave. I'm not a bath person so the shower has to be right. If this is as important to you, make that clear to your sales rep and hopefully they can make it happen. It's possible here in Maryland, so hopefully for you as well in Ohio. Good luck!

    2. I asked for a bench and was told no. They even told me there would be no shelves or anything in my shower. I was furious! Well, my shower was delivered a few weeks ago and it turns out there are two benches big enough to sit on and two ledges for soap bottles. You can see me standing in it in one of my blog entries. You can't see the two benches but they are pretty big. My shower is fiberglass so this might not be the case with tile showers.
